Production of the Oakley Design LP760-2 has been limited to just five cars, each bearing a unique numbered plaque. All 5 of these are now already sold. Outside of this Limited Edition model, individual parts will be available for clients who do not require the complete package.
A new ultra-light, forged alloy wheel has been developed in conjunction with our partner HRE. Weighing around 7kg less per corner than the factory alloys, this is the distinctive Oakley Design P40SC design used on our Ferrari and Porsche based models.
We retain the factory 255/35ZR19 front and 335/30ZR20 Pirelli PZero tyres, but increase wheel width from 9.0J to 9.5 inch in the front, and from 12.0J to 12.5J at the rear. This gives the car a wider footprint, and endows the rear wheels with more mechanical grip especially in ‘corsa’ mode.
Although the majority of owners will purchase variants of the 29 carbon-fibre available parts, sports exhaust and re-mapped ECU, a few hard-core clients are interested in a rear-drive only option for a further weight saving and increased performance.
After our success tuning the Ferrari 458 Italia to 640bhp we felt that the Aventador, with its very stiff full carbon monocoque and advanced suspension design, should also be able to handle a higher level of power with just rear-wheel-drive.
We are still developing several suspension upgrade alternatives with our partner Intrax, and the removal of the front differential, drive shafts and associated front drivetrain parts has reduce kerb weight by a further 72kgs.
Lamborghini’s claimed outputs of 690bhp and 508 lb/ft of torque, have been increased to 760bhp and 577lb/ft with an ECU remap optimising a larger carbon airbox intake feed diameter and a titanium exhaust system that also saves over 36kg. The angular cover surrounding the four exhaust outlet pipes now also features the Oakley Design logo and signature burnt blue tip look.
Despite having a carbon-fibre bodyshell, the Aventador has many gloss black plastic parts.
The two plastic front bumper and two rear bumper trims have been extended to aid cooling, as have the side air intakes located behind the doors windows. The new parts are made from carbon-fibre, as are the new side sills intakes with their 50mm larger side profiles. The sills have had the air vents picked out in carbon, for a more aggressive look.
Developed in the MIRA wind tunnel, the rear adjustable spoiler can sit anywhere form 0-45 degrees, matched to a rear diffuser with longer, deeper boundary layer fences, and extended 50mm front chin spoiler helps high-speed stability and grip on both two and four-wheel-drive versions and an increase of 243kgs downforce is possible depending or rear wing setting. We have found that 15 degree angle gives a good balance with a top speed capable of 230mph @8250rpm.
Most of the carbon-fibre exterior and engine bay covers are direct replacement parts. Along with the black carbon roof, they give this very special LP760-2 Aventador its distinctive Oakley Design look.
