ECU Remapping, Chipping and Chip Tuning
FlashRemapping, January 2013
Vauxhall Zarira 1.9 CDTi 150 Remap
ECU Remapped and DPF Removal 02/01/2013
Gain 40BHp 80Nm
A broken Pressure pipe was a possible cause of the DPF on this Zafira being totally blocked – No problem for this Taxi remove the dpf and give it a blend tune – more responsive and better fuel economy
Audi A4 2.0 TDi 140Bhp Remap
ECU Remapped 02/01/2013
Gain 40 BHp 80NM
The 140TDi’s respond so well to a remap its really crazy not to – this one was a multitronic auto but doesn’t matter which gearbox you have they all respond well
Audi A3 2.0 Tfsi 197Bhp Remap
ECU Remapped 02/01/2013
Gain 45BHp 85Nm
The 2.0 Tfsi engine is used in so many vehicles in the VAG range – Its probably the most commonly tuned engine we see and with these sort of gains its understandable why
Porsche 911 (997) Carrera S 3.8 Remap
ECU Remapped 04/01/2013
Gain 25BHp 35Nm
355BHp in stock form is pretty lively and the actual peak gains on this car do not look overly impressive but the throttle response and mid range torque gains make it well worthwhile, even if you live in central London there will be empty roads one day to enjoy it
Mazda 5 2.0d
ECU Remapped and DPF Removed 04/01/2012
Gain 35BHp 65Nm
Another clogged DPF making the dashboard into a Christmas tree – Not the easiest job to do on these as the softwares are different and need a lot of fettling to get perfect – fortunately we know the likely problems and how to get them correctly sorted out
Vauxhall Vivaro 2.0 CDTi 115Bhp
ECU Remapped 06/01/2013
Gain 38BHp 75Nm
This was a 2011 vehicle with just 17k miles and the owner will be keeping it a good few years so the extra power will make it a lot more enjoyable and the extra mpg will pay for the remap in no time
Reduced emissions will also help save the planet – a win – win – win situation
Niesmann + Bischoff Arto 59
ECU Remapped 07/01/2013
Gain 38BHp 75Nm
Not a “Niesmann + Bischoff” I hear you all cry but yes indeed it is – well its basically a Fiat Ducatto with the very best of Motorhome conversions – The spec is out of this world – double glazing – wet room – garage for a motorbike – two double beds – these guys really make the dogs dangly bits of a motorhome – much better drive now its remapped
Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 Auto
ECU Remapped 08/02/2013
Gain 35BHp 65Nm
Another ecu on the bench to tune but this is becoming second nature now taking just 2 hours to tune – and the gains make it worthwhile – both on the road and at the pumps
VW Golf GT TDi 2010 140Bhp
ECU Remapped 10/01/2013
Gain 37BHp 75Nm
Little awkward on the soldering to the bosch edc17cp46 as the boot and cnf pins are rather close together but with a little patience its no trouble and the results well worthwhile more responsive with more power in more of the rev range
Saab 9-5 1.9 TiD 150Bhp
ECU Remapped 11/01/2013
Gain 40BHp 80Nm
Is it me or do Saab’s look best in Black – the deep glossy paint always look good – The TiD engine is a good choice for economy and performance but we can vastly improve the GM engine by 40Bhp 80Nm with smoother power delivery, better throttle response and more mpg ding dong
BMW E39 520I 150Bhp
ECU Remapped 12/01/2013
Gain 18BHp 24Nm
This must be the earliest BMW I have seen with an OBD2 socket – registered sept 1998 usually we would have to use the OBD 1 ( or pacman plug as I like to call it ) under the bonnet but either way the MS42 ecu remaps easily to give better throttle response more power especially in the flat 1700-2100 rpm area and an allround nicer drive
ECU Remapped and DPF Delete
Gain 35BHp 70Nm
The VW Crafter is a real Grafter – this 56 model has already covered 145k miles but the problem of a blocked DPF that had come about 5 months ago had raised its ugly head again… – The owner was not happy to pay out for another new filter so the best option was to remove it – then program the ecu so it doesn’t try and regenerate and give it a “Blue Optimize” remap – the last one of these we did the same to improved fuel economy by over 30% – and the whole process costs less than half the price of replacing the DPF – Lovely
ECU Remapped 18/01/2012
Gain 30BHp 60Nm
Plumbers carry quite a few tools that add up to a huge weight – a performance remap here will help both performance and economy – I do like the 3 seater cabs in these vans
V-Box fitted 18/01/2012
Gain 35BHp 70Nm
Now I m not the greatest fan of tuning boxes – they come in such different quality from cheap resistors to nicely mapped chips – we use a box specifically designed for us and we know through experience on which cars they give good results and in this case the Volvo is one of the very best for results – especially when as this one was fitted with an edc15 ecu that would alternatively require a chip change in the ecu
ECU Remapped 19/01/2012
Gain 30BHp 60Nm
The TDDI version of the Focus which pre-dates the TDCi has a fuel pump rather than common rail and there is no boost control map in the ecu so gains can vary car to car as we remap them like a NASP and the turbo makes allowances for extra fueling in the map – Unfortunately snow on the ground did not allow an over spirited test drive but nice gains and improved MPG here
ECU Remapped 21/01/2013
Gain 35BHp 70Nm
Paul occasionally tows a caravan with his automatic Kia and our experience tells us a performance remap will help fuel economy more when towing and will also be better while not towing. The initial test drive he noticed it being smoother and quieter
ECU Remapped 22/01/2013
Gain 38BHp 90Nm
The 2.5Tdi is a bit underpowered for such a large and heavy vehicle so we would always edge towards a performance tune on these as the mpg is much improved as well as the performance – best of both worlds then
ECU Remapped 23/01/2013
Gain 19 Bhp 24Nm
Not enormous gains but enough to make a difference sharper throttle response and even an extra 1-2 mpg with a remap on the 3 litre Merc
ECU Remapped 24/01/2013
Gain 35BHp 65Nm
Marmite coloured Range Rover here – not for me but certainly outstanding and proper bodykit and sprayed coulours – Certainly better to drive once remapped though
ECU Remapped 24/01/2013
Gain 36BHp 70Nm
This big engined Vito carries half a ton of equipment all the time so in order to achieve a better drive and improved fuel economy we went for a fairly strong file – we can do more than this but we felt this will give the customer the perfect balance – A short test drive and immediately all the flat spots had gone
ECU Remapped 29/01/2013
Gan 30BHp 60Nm
The Mondeo based Jag is a very nice car with reasonable running costs due to its Ford underpinnings but 130BHp is quite lame by todays standards -much better with a performance remap – this will also help the mpg too
ECU Remapped 30/01/2013
Gain 30BHp 65Nm
The 170 Bhp around the 2007 vintage had a Siemens ppd1.x ecu as opposed to the Bosch edc16 in the 140BHp version – this ecu is a lot less tunable the key is not to go too mad on the tuning – this level will give extra power and smoothness but not give injector problems that I know some tuners have had problems with
