Audi TT 1.8T 225Bhp Remap

ECU Remapped 01/04/2016
Gain 40Bhp 80Nm
The Audi TT first generation definately fall into the category of cars we love to drive, especially the 225Bhp one. In 2002 there wasnt so many 200+ bhp cars around and these set a new mark for style and pace. The ME7 ecu is a simple one to remap and the gains are pretty impressive. These cars can now be had under 3 grand that just shouts BARGAIN

ECU Remapped 01/04/2016
Dave runs Dartford Tyres – I have known him years as I always use them for fair priced quality rubber – He has had this VR6 for a while and always mentioned it wasnt running as sweet as it should – it had been mapped by the previous owner so like a cobbler with holes in his shoes we hadnt got round to looking at it – Today was the day I went round and had a look at the software – Its a 2.8 litre non turbo charged car so spark advance is a very important part of tuning – the map on the car has given nearly 9 deg of timing advance – Not good – the mapping is now corrected to what is a more healthy level of tuning based on an original software and guess what the car runs a whole bunch better.

ECU Remapped 05/04/2016
Gain 42BHp 90Nm
Big gains from the big BMW as always – the 6 cylinder 3 litre diesel BMW is such a great candidate for tuning and we stills ee them coming through the doors untuned.

RNR2

BMW 525D Remap

We went out to remap this 525d at our friends RNR Performance garage but after reading the software from the ecu we realized it was already remapped – Now you have seen it a thousand times a tuner then slagging off the map that had been put on the car claiming it was dangerous or bad but in this case quite the opposite – this was a genuinely decent remap – not quite the same as the way we would alter the software but a very good map – torque limiters , pulse width of injectors, boost boost limiters all changed very well – they had increased fuel rail pressure also which we do not do in the mapping but it is a completely acceptable way of tuning these 6 cylinder Bimmers. Anyways the car was left as is and no charge to the customer

BMW 325I REMAP

BMW E92 325I Remap

ECU Remapped 06/04/2016
Gain 17BHp 30Nm
Another 6 cylinder BMW this time Naturally aspirated and petrol which as NASP cars go is a good thing – and as NASP cars go these tune very well – smoother and more responsive – worth the 1 hour read time from the MSD81 ecu

Range Rover TDV8 Remap

Range Rover 3.6 TDV8 Remap

ECU Remapped 07/04/2016
Gain 68BHp 160Nm
Everything about remapping a Range Rover TDV8 is good especially the 3.6 litre ones. This Low mileage beauty reads in 3 minutes and writes in 2 and the gains are monumental – It was quick before but now its superb

Mercedes Citan 1.5 DCi Remap

Mercedes Citan 1.5 DCi Remap

ECU Remapped 07/04/2016
Gain 25bHP 55Nm
being a 2013 vehicle with a bosch edc17 ecu you would think I would need to remove teh ecu and tune on the bench but the Mercedes Citan is really a Renault Kangoo in a posh frock – These ecus when used in Renault traffics can be remapped via the obd port and its the same with a Citan so in an hour we have increased the little vans power from 90 to 115 bhp – lovely jubbely

Mercedes S320CDi Remap

Mercedes s320 Cdi Remap

ECU Remapped 07/04/2016
Gain 38BHP 85Nm
This beauty was from 2007 and littered with AMG extras – the quality of a Mercedes S Class is fantastic and this was no exception – Remapping the Bosch EDC16 ecu is straightforward apart from making sure the battery is well supported during the write process as the Merc loves to turn all its fans on when writing and can flatten a battery very very quickly

Gain 38BHp 75Nm
Some days I am embarrassed to be in the tuning world there are so many chancers and there is little regulation. This customer called me yesterday can I remap his 2014 Vivaro – yes of course we can “bread and butter” stuff to us. Then the story unfolds – at the end of last year he took the van to a tuner in sw london who couldn’t communicate with the ecu via the obd port so took the ecu out to tune on the bench and killed it. Despite numerous attempts they could not get it working again so put the customer in in an old lesser powered van while they sorted things out. A new ecu was allegedly bought and remapped with an eco file and the customer as asked to come and pick up his van. The customer drove the van which felt good compared to his loan vehicle but over the last few months has come to the opinion it was no better on fuel or up on power. It will come as no surprise then that when we read the file from the van ( via obd) the file was completely stock = no chance in the software – neither has the van been anywhere near a main dealer in between.
Now im sure if I spoke to the other tuner there would be a different angle on this story – there always is – but this van was definitely not remapped

BMW E85 Z4 2.2 Remap

ECU Remaped 08/04/2016
Gain 12BHp 15Nm
Another NASP BMW that benefits more from a remap than teh figures suggest – flat spots – no actually a whole flat area around 2000 rpm is virtually eliminated with a remap and the car is more powerful and better throttle response all through

This car has been over to that tuner in Essex twice – first time they told the customer it needs the ecu removing and chipping – its a 53reg – really – second time the customer waited 3 hours while other cars were being done and asked whats happening – they hadn’t started on his car yet – now he it trying to give them his money but they seem dead set against taking it – He took the keys and hot tailed it back to the correct side of the Thames estuary and called Kents finest tuner – arrived with us at 6.30 pm – car tuned are roaring down the road at 7.15pm – Straight forward Bosch edc15+ OBD map – thanks very much

Ford Transit 3.2 TDCi Remap

Ford Transit 3.2 TDCi Remap

ECU Remapped 12/042016
Gain 40Bhp 90Nm
This was a 2013 Ford transit so you would think siemens SID ecu bench tune but its actually from the slightly older generation of Ford Transits with a Visteon ECU so a simple OBD Remap – The 3.2 Litre version is very rare and the 5 cylinders produce 200 bhp in stock form which is very nice – Its even nicer now with 240BHp and shedloads of torque to make up for what it lacks in Aerodynamics

Mercedes s350 cdi Remap

Mercedes S350 CDi Remap

ECU Remapped 13/04/2016
Gain 40BHp 85Nm
Although this S class Mercedes has a 3 litre 6 cylinder motor like the s320cdi we remapped earlier this month this is a 2011 version with a Bosch EDC17C46 ECU that needs to be tuned on the bench – Its easy out though and the c46 has a more solid metal cast lid which makes opening even easier – Two boot pins as you can see in the picture and ECU reads and writes easily – whole job taking just 75 minutes and very noticable gains from Mercedes Luxury barge

Mini Cooper S JCW Remap

Mini Cooper S JCW Remap

ECU Remapped 16/04/216
Gain 30BHp 60Nm
Ok I will admit it I have gone a bit “Superchips” on the gain figures here – these cars will gain 20BHp 40Nm at peak MAX but earlier on in the rev range 3500 rpm is they are gaining 30Bhp 60Nm and thats how Superchips make their claims so if its good enough for them…. The ecu has to be mapped on teh bench but no big problem once youve found the little plastic clips by feel to release the ecu – single boot pin and the car is ready for a test drive – nice gains and more pleasurable to drive

Peugeot 307 SW 1.6 Hdi 110Bhp Remap

ECU Remapped 19/04/2016
Gain 28BHp 60Nm
110BHp from a little 1,6 Diesel car that is nearly 10 years old inst bad but when you commute 35 limes each way every day down the A12 its a bit of a drag – Remapping improves power , throttle response and fuel economy all in 1 go – why would you not

BMW E93 330D Remap

just fitted with a new dpf back sport exhaust and nice low miles this BMW went really well – a nice 11 left in the road as the customer left – well hard not to enjoy all that extra power we can tune into a 330d

vauxhall Iinsignia 2.0 cdti 160 remap

Vauxhall Insignia 2.0 CDTi Remap

ECU Remapped 28/04/2016
gain 30BHp 60Nm
Being a 2010 vehicle this Insignia was a bench tune but te ecu couldn’t be in a more convenient place next to the battery and its out opened and being read in 10 minutes – The later 140/165Bhp versions are a bit more trikky to pin out on the bench but this edc17cp19 is as easy as they come – whole job less than an hour and now the car drives as it should always have done – Interestingly most 130BHp insignias can also be tuned to the level of this 160 ( 190bhp total) and the engines are identical and the difference is just software

DAF XF95 Remap

DAF XF95 430Bhp Remap

ECU Remapped 30/04/2016
Gain 40BHp 200NM
Fuel economy is the name of the game in trucks – this one averages just under 8mpg ( although truck drivers always seem to compare litres per 100km ) but when you do big miles that adds up to a lot of money – A 7% saving on fuel can be worth over £3000 per year per vehicle – This 2004 DAF had 1.2 million KM on the clock – that sounds a lot to the uninitiated but is actually very reasonable mileage for the 12.5 litre Paccar.. The read and write times are super fast as the systems use 24v on these. so its only an hour to remap including modifying the software and adapting a Scania lead to read via the diagnostic socket

Mercedes W204 C220 CDi Remap

ECU Remapped 30/04/2016
Gain 38Bhp 75Nm
From the first w204 shaped C Class mercedes till late 2008/ early 2009 the ecu had changed to a delphi dcm 3.2 ( or crd .10 /.11) unfortunately these ecus have to be tuned on the bench unlike its later version the dcm 3.5 which can be tuned via the OBD port – Its a tad frustrating but this Merc was tuned and tested in 90 minutes and the extra power very noticable
