VW Crafter 2.5 Remap and speed limiter removal

VW Crafter 2.5 TDi Remap and speed limiter removal

ECU Remapped 01/02/2016
Gain 35BHp 70Nm
Its a ridiculous situation but when a Crafter has been speed limited in the ecu then the speed limiter can only be reduced further with the likes of vag-com , to remove the speed limiter it has to be done in the software as read from the ecu – In this case we still have to put in a new value so 199 km/h will do as thats above the potential top speed of the van – while we have the ecu file in the system we may as well remap it as well giving a gain in both power and economy.

Mazda 3 1.6 Remap

Mazda 3 1.6 Remap

ECU Remapped 002/02/2016
Gain 8 bhp 12Nm
Naturally aspirated vehicles can still be remapped although gains are less the gains are always progressive. In this case with a throttle cable the mapping is mostly about timing advance. The improvements are certainly noticeable though

Subaru Forrester 2.5 XT Remap and secondary air pump delete

Subaru Forrester 2.5 XT Remap and secondary air pump delete

ECU Remapped 04/02/2016
Gain 30 BHp 55Nm
Secondary air pumps cause plenty of faults on the Subarus but the faults can be deleted when we remap them and this deletes the MIL light and deactivates the air pump – Lots easier than replacing it – Nice gains from the remap too widening the power band which is very welcome

Ford Mondeo 1.8 TDCi Remap and EGR Delete

Ford Mondeo 1.8 TDCi Remap and EGR Delete

ECU Remapped 05/02/2016
Gain 30 bhp 60Nm
Sean had blanked off the EGR valve in his Mondeo due to a fault but still had the eml on with fault code p0490 – No problem to delete this fault code as part of the remapping process so the eml light is now out and car drives more spiritedly – The problem with having an eml light on for a fault you are aware of is that you wouldnt know if the light would come on for another more serious reason that requires attention

BMW 120I Remap

BMW 120i Remap

ECU Remapped 08/02/2016

Gain 17BHp 24Nm

I have said it before and I will say it again – Naturally aspirated vehicles gain much less power than turbo charged ones when remapped but that should not stop you remapping them – case in point the 4 cylinder BMW petrol engines have a horrible flat spot from 1700-2100 rpm which is eliminated by our remap and better throttle response and a linear gain in power certainly warrant the expense of tuning your NASP Bimmer

Ford Mondeo 2.0 TDCi Remap

Ford Mondeo 2.0 TDCi Remap

ECU Remapped 09/02/2016
Gain 35BHp 70Nm
The second Mondeo in just a few days – this time a 2.0 TDCi 140BHp version one with a slush box – very fast read/write from the Siemens ecu and we can now even get the Dagenham Dustbin to spin its wheels a little

Mercedes ml 350CDi Bluetec Remap

Mercedes ML350 CDI Remap

ECU Remapped 10/02/2016
Gain 45Bhp 110Nm
This 2015 Mercedes we saw pretty much 1 year ago and we could not read the ecu at the time despite it having a Bosche edc17cp46 ecu it just would not read – of course things have changed since and there is a new GPT version of the cp46 protocol- no problem this time straight in and reading – 2 hours later a vastly improved ML that has go and well as show

Audi a6 2.0 Tdi 140 Remap

ECU Remapped 12/02/2016
Gain 40Bhp 80Nm
Darren called us last week to let us know he was buying a new car – we remapped his a4 about 3 years ago – He was umming and ahhing between a mondeo and an A6 but eventually went for the A6 although as he said it couldn’t pull the skin off a rice pudding. An hours work on a friday afternoon while having a great laugh and joke with him and his friend is just what we all need to finish the week along with very impressive gains on the new car.

Fiat Panda 1.3 Mjet Remap

Fiat Panda 1.3 Mjet Remap

ECU Remapped 15/02/2016
Gain 18BHp 38Nm
Its not all Porsches and other exotica in remapping – but even a 1.3 litre Mjet Panda can benefit from remapping – with only 75BHp stock 18Bhp is quite an improvement and of course will use less bananas per mile too

Insignia Dyno Graph

The owner of the Vauxhall Insignia 2.0 cdti 130ps we remapped a month or so ago wanted to check what power we had gained by remapping as it was a bit in the balance – if we can line the software up with a 160bhp version we can change to a 160 and tune further from there but in this case the files do not line up – We did however find the maps we would normally change.
So what were the gains – well we didnt dyno the car in stock form and being a bench tune we wern’t going to put it back to stock to then remap it again so it went on as-is. Stock quoted figures are 128BHp 221lb/ft and this car had already covered 75k miles.
Dyno proved out excellent work yet again 174Bhp and 325Lb/ft of torque – A GAIN OF 46BHP AND 104LB/FT(thats 141Nm for those of you in metric) above Vauxhalls figures – amazing figures and Bhp could easily be higher by holding boost longer but who would want to drive a diesel at 4000 rpm – more wear on the turbo and it wouldn’t gain any more torque between 2000-3250rpm so pretty pointless.

VW Crafter 2.5 TDi Remap

VW Crafter 2.5 TDi 109 Remap

ECU Remapped 16/02/2016
Gain 38BHp 85Nm
109 BHp from the 2.5 Litre Crafter will do the job but not very well – a remap makes a world of difference – now nearly 150BHp and with a boatload more torque the VW van will get the job done with ease even when loaded – Vans are very popular for remapping as they are used every day for work and sometimes there just isnt enough power – or good enough fuel economy

Audi a6 2.7 tdI Remap

Audi A6 2.7 TDi Remap

ECU Remapped 20/02/2016
Gain 50BHp 110Nm
thsi 2009 Audi had a cp14 version of the edc17 ecu and it also had anti-tune software so no option but to tune on the bench – not a big problem though and job took just slightly over an hour – the gains however are magnificent – so much more power and torque these 2.7 Tdis really much be remapped

mERCEDES E200 CDi Remap

Mercedes w212 e200 cdi remap

ECU Remapped 21/02/2016
Gain 38Bhp 75Nm
Steve was about to sell his Mercedes – It just didnt have enough power and left him feeling uninspired – finding out about remapping has changed his opinion now better throttle response and power just over that of an e220cdi version makes the car so much better to drive and the car will stay for a few more years

Vauxhall Vivaro 2.0 CDTi Remap

Vauxhall Vivaro 2.0 CDTi Remap

ECU Remapped 22/02/2016
Gain 38BHp 75Nm
Great gains on the Vivaro and considerable fuel savings too. We know these engines so well – no one has tuned more of these than us and we can achieve great torque gains but also much improved mpg

Ford Transit Custom 125 Remap

Ford Transit Custom 2.2 TDCi 125 Remap

ECU Remapped 22/02/2016
Gain 30 Bhp 60Nm
How good looking are these Transit Customs – they have come a long way and are really attractive especially in black even though they will need cleaning every two days. Remapping these reuires removing the ecu to tune on the bench but its all done in a couple of hours and the van is more spritely with much better throttle response

Audi a5 2.0 TFSi Remap

Audi A5 2.0 TFSi 180PS Remap

ECU Remapped 22/02/2016
Gain 45BHp 90Nm
This was a late 2009 , 59 reg Audi but had had a software update on it giving the ecu the anti-tune software but its not a problem we had a matching version on file so can still write the MED17 ecu via the OBD port. The gains are significant giving 45BHp and 90Nm of extra Torque

BMW E90 325D Remap

BMW E90 325D Remap

ECU Remapped 23/02/2016
Gain 50 BHp 110Nm
massive gains from the 3 litre BMW diesel. After March 2009 the ecu needs to be tuned on the bench but this really isnt that hard when its an edc17cp09 – its the cp41/45 which are trikky.
Just over an hour and the Auto now spins its wheels at the drivers request – much more responsive and loads of extra torque

Subaru Impreza WRX Remap

Subaru Impreza WRX Remap

ECU Remapped 26/02/2016
Gain 30 BHp 55NM peak with max 45BHp 80Nm
A 2001 unmolested Impreza wrx is a rarity – and depsite a dump valve and a prodrive rear exhaust this was a stock car and ecu untouched – till now that is – after a couple of minutes fumbling under the dash to connect the green plugs and fit the loop out – reading and writing are simple and the gains very noticeable

VW Eos 2.0 TDi Remap

VW EOS 2.0 TDI DSG Remap

ECU Remapped 26/02/2016
Gain 40 bhp 80Nm
The owner of this vehicle has brought a number of cars to us before and this is his new car a 50k mile Eos diesel – He would however like to disassociate himself from the Shelby stripes that have been added by a previous owner – Probably an Adam and the Ants fan who likes the stripes – they will be removed once the hairdryer has been found ( no i havent had use of one of those for a while ) still the car is now a properly pokey little cabriolet and much better throttle response – maybe the go-faster stripes should stay

Mercedes c320 Cdi Remap

Mercedes w204 C320Cdi Remap

ECU Remapped 27/02/2016
Gain 38BHP 85Nm
The 3 litre c320 is not a slow car but throttle response is slow and can be nipped up and we can give it a decent increase in power – the Bosch edc17 cp01 ecu does have to be tuned on the bench but as it sits just under the pollen filter with two plugs and two bolts its out in a couple of minutes and the whole job takes an hour and a quarter – great results

Citroen DS3 1.6 vti remap

Citroen DS3 1.6 Vti Remap

ECU Remapped 27/02/2016
Gain 10 BHp 15Nm
A naturally aspirated engine will not gain as much as a turbo charged one from remapping but the ds3 gets a nice pep up from the remap – bench tune on the MEV17.4.2 ecu but its easy in/ easy out so couple of hours tops to get the Citroen a bit speedier. Now those of you who see Citroens as a cheap and cheapful shopping trolley need to take another look the DS range are very nicely appointed with much higher quality materials
