Daewoo Motors of Korea has always had strong links with GM, set up in 1978 but the car badge did not appear till 1983 and not in the UK till 1995. Eventually Daewoo sold off its automotive arm to GM in 2001 who have been moving names across since then with the Daewoo name only holding strong in South Korea and Vietnam. Daewoo commercial vehicles was also sold to Tata motors of India. But what does this tell us of their models – well many shared components with GM and even Mercedes when they started producing the Musso 4wd that was originally made by Ssangyong.
