Mini, as the name suggests, is a small car manufactured by BMC and its successors since 1959. The iconic shape was designed by Sir Alec Issigonis and has become one of the world’s great car shapes. Helped by tuning from John Cooper they were also pretty quick and with a wheel at each corner handled very well.
Many film rolls were forthcoming for the Mini and even now I can sit through “The Italian Job” even though I have seen it a thousand times.
Production of the classic Mini continued until 200o but by 1995 BMW had bought Mini and were working on a modern take of Sir Alec’s idea. 2001 saw the launch of the new Mini and it was not to disappoint, starting with the “One” and ranging through “Cooper” to “JCW-John Cooper Works”, you can choose a Mini to suit your needs.
